Featured on an internet show all about geocaching, there is a group of folks who observe and honor an irrational number pi, on March 14th, 2009 ... well, we are rational mathematicians too and we can't wait that long to hold another event, so e Night comes before pi Day!
e is ~ 2.718281828 ... and the natural log of e equals 1. To determine which day e falls on, we did a straight percentage and calculated that e falls on about the 20th day of February. Going with the 20 hour military time, that's 8PM for all you civilians, that's when this event starts! Nametags will be passed out for the first 1/2 hour only to the approved RSVP list.
The friend and owner pledges that his place is our place for a couple hours on a FRIDAY NIGHT!!! Geocaching attire is strongly encouraged and we will pass out name tags and the staff pledges to do their best to keep the muggles at bay!
No nametag: no free GEOGROG! Root beer, other such beverages, and pretzels that you make are available for purchase.
More info on activities and arrangements will be posted as the event draws near. Check back here from time to time and make sure your team posts an RSVP with number of attendees and all usernames. RSVP cut off deadline is Wednesday, 18 February, 6PM. The activity agenda is shaping up with something for everyone!
So come join raptors, piranha, doves, and any other FTF hawks that lurk in the OC geo-jungle on February 20th, 2009. Serious and casual cachers are all welcome! This will be a fun time for all adults, so don't miss out!
So what does e have to do with this place? Well, we intend to drink some root bEEr hErE, so does that qualify???
