Geocache Description:

Pokey Plodders
Lake Padden

This event is a Meet 'n' Greet--have some breakfast, meet other cachers, trade caching stories and TBs. We've had so much fun at the other Pokey Plodders events that we want to do it again and meet more people! We're holding it nice and early so that afterwards you can do your usual activities--gardening, housework, shopping, maybe even grab a cache or two before the rest of the family is out of bed! There are some great caches in the area, and there will surely be people who want to pokey plod after them!

New cachers are especially welcome--come on out and play with us!

Who: Anyone who wants to come and share caching stories, coins and travel bugs with us. Come meet new and "old" cachers, ask questions about challenge caches, get recommendations for interesting caches, and find out about fun caches for kids--maybe find someone to go along on your next caching expedition!

What to Bring: Your favorite breakfast beverage, maybe something to share, your TBs and coins to share and trade, your best caching stories and photos.

When: Saturday, November 15th, 2008, 9-10:30 am. Make sure to sign the event logbook.

Where: Lake Padden Park
From I-5, take Exit 246 (North Lake Samish Exit)
Off of the exit, take a left onto Samish Way.  Follow Samish Way for just under 3 miles - Lake Padden east entrance is on the left
Take the east entrance to the park and drive until you see the shelters on your right (just before you reach the ball fields). The Playground shelter is between the playground and restrooms.
Trails wander out of the park providing hikers, bikers, trail runners, and horseback riders with extended distances and challenging terrain.  An easy loop trail goes around the lake through open and wooded areas. Moderately difficult dirt trails through the woods south and east of the lake offer the mostly hilly terrain. Padden Gorge Trail follows the creek from the dam west of the lake to 36th St.
Lake Padden Park is a community park established in 1972. Facilities include two picnic shelters, playground, beach with swimming area, restrooms, trails, parking, basketball court, softball fields, multi-purpose fields, barbecue grills and picnic tables.
