Geocache Description:

The Hurstone Nature Reserve is also the site of the remains of the Tone Viaduct, one of many built by Brunel, although the main structure has gone the remains of the Eastern buttress are still there and from the top of it the support pillars are still visible. Not only do you visit a rather splendid nature reserve but you also get to see a piece of railway history.
There are two walks to the cache, the upper walk is a steep climb then a steady muddy descent and is the less muddier of the two but if you like a bit of mud the lower path is a nice walk as well but you will need your wellies or really good walking boots boots as it is very muddy in places but not such a climb.
Please remember that this is a Nature Reserve and in such we are guests here, please do not damage anything, there is no need to beat any undergrowth down, dig anything up, destroy anything as the cache is only about 4 paces off the footpath and just hidden carefully. Please make sure you replace as found.
Please keep dogs and children on a lead when you are close to the cache and if you go to see what is left of the Eastern buttress, as it is a steep drop. DO NOT attempt this in the dark or at dusk as the paths were very slippery and muddy when we hid the cache.
By choosing to try and find this cache you accept responsibility for your own safety.

Permission has been obtained from the Reserve management and the land owner

PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOG BUGS & COINS IN AND OUT BY NAME
it makes it easier to try and trace them if they go missing.
