András Péter (1840-1916) - or as he had been called by the locals: "peasantnabob" - was a progressive minded landholder. With smart farming he earned a lot of money. He was the judge of Szeghalom. He spended the most of his life in a den of Halaspuszta, that was 7km far from the village. He hadn't got child. His name has been written to the history of "Sárrét" because of he based a gymnasium at Szeghalom. His famous testament was made in 1907 in Nagyvárad. After writing this, he lived nine more years until he died at 1916.05.13. . His last will fulfilmented at 1926's September. That's the date when the "Református Péter András Gymnasium" has opened it's gate.
