ThePiedPiper: Went to perform maintenance on this one today and found a snake nesting on top of the cache. Have I ever told you how much I hate Snakes???
It wasn't so bad that we put a battery operated Halloween skull in it to scare people who opened the container, but after 3 months the Rats and Mice had eaten a hole in the side of the container and made nests in it.
I did cache maintenance last spring and had a rat run up the arm, also everytime we are here we get ate up with Mosquitos and bugs.. After Eagle Ranger DNF'd it we decided to go check on it hoping that no one had taken the Ammo Can out of the container or the container hadn't been eaten away.. Got to ground zero, opened the lid and there was a 5 foot snake curled up guarding it. After gathering myself up and calming Tina down, We spent 20 minutes trying to get the snake to leave the box but it would not leave.. I sent Tina back to the truck to get the hammer, thinking I would just knock the container off the tree and that would send the Snake a running so we could recover the ammo can. Sure enough it worked, the snake came out when the container hit the ground and slithered away, all 5 foot of the thing..
We grabbed the container and headed back to the truck..

This cache may return in a new location and a different type of hide..

Thanks everyone who found this one..
