Niels and Peter were on a mission to find some real facts. The
media had recently made some rather bold statements, but the media
had not provided any independently verifiable evidence to support
their claims.
Highly skilled and quite knowledgeable in the subject matter,
Niels and Peter analyzed the criteria. They researched some
methods. They chose some obvious targets. Then they designed,
assembled and deployed an automated framework to gather the needed
data for their research. The results of their fact finding mission
are well know in some circles and are open to interpretation. Other
published studies show that others attempted the same same task as
Niels and Peter. The results of the published studies don't seem to
provide anything new. The unpublished tests are, well.... just that
:)
So, enough of that random nonsense. Are you
ready to find a really simple cache?
This is a really simple 2 waypoint (multi-cache) located in the
hills of East Orange. There are already a couple of other caches in
the area. Grab those at the same time if you are so inclined.
Waypoint 1 provides the coordinates for waypoint 2. Waypoint 1
is a stones throw from a local street. Hopefully it will remain on
the ground where it belongs.
Waypoint 2 is a small ammo can. Waypoint 2 is not hidden very
well and may end up being mugglified if not well cared for. Time
will tell and I'll replace/improve if need be.
Original cache contents are rather sparse, containing:
** One of those disposable cameras that probably won't last
long. Take some photos please and leave it behind. I'll post them
someday if they are printable.
** Some random items from the store I love to hate. See
photo.
** Some groundspeak.com trinkets. Hey, we all need to support
the site!
Please be aware that there are; snakes, spiders, bees, wild
boar, bobcats, frogs, lizards, zebras, raccoon, humans, cougars,
broken glass, cacti, rocks, rusty nails, slippy dirt and all kinds
of other hazards up there. Please plan accordingly and be
careful.
Good luck, have fun, cito and be safe.
Ooops! Almost forgot. You will probably need
to know the coordinates for waypoint 1.
Well, lets see... There are a couple of different methods of
finding them from the information on this page.
This is where I have to explain that originally I was going to
upload a single photo and just say, "Have at it". That would've
been sweet 'cause you would not have to read this novel just to
find a simple cache :) But that would also have excluded a fair
amount of otherwise excellent geo-cachers and really seemed wrong
after I gave it some additional thought.
So, I decided that two methods would be better. Both should be
quite simple.
Method 1: Have a look in the photo of the cache contents,
it may help to think about the title of the cache.
Method 2: Have a look in the photo of some completely
random books. While the subject matter of these books is similar in
some way there is an odd man out in the photo which has nothing to
do with the topics. The key may not be odd.
Note: for method 2 you are searching for the last bit of the
following coords:N33 Degrees 47.??? W117 Degrees 47.???.
Good Luck!
As suggested from a very experienced cacher I have increased the
difficulty level, not to 4 as suggested but to 3 1/2. 10/23/2008
