Geocache Description:

This event is part of the World Wide Flash Mob Event 1V!

Ours has a nickname:

WWFM IV: “FLASH FROZEN IN LABRADOR!”

About this event:

This will be the third WWFM event held in the Upper Lake Melville area, and if this one is like last year’s event, it will be cold and snowing, so we thought a “FLASH FROZEN” theme this year would be nice. Therefore, you have to come dressed for extreme cold, even if it turns out to be a nice day!! We want to see your best -40 C outfit, complete with fur hats/snowmobile boots/scarves/mitts/coats whatever you would wear on the coldest day of the year!

Since you won’t be able to write in the log book with your big mitts on, we are going to take an idea from a couple of other previous WWFM events: You have to make your own logbook page, on a 4x6 index card or similar sized material!! Please include your caching name, a drawing/logo/sticker sig item if you have one, the date (Saturday, Nov 8, 2008), and any other artwork you deem appropriate. This will then become a page in the event logbook!

Details about the Flash Mob:

Who? Geocachers, their families, and friends.
What? A flash mob cache event – No, we are not going to flash anyone!!
Where? The above coordinates.
When? 14:00-14:15, Saturday, 08 November 2008
Why? Why not!?!

This event is only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and hand in your log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Anyone arriving after this time cannot claim the event as a find.

This event will be quite unique and creative, and we will be joined by thousands of other cachers all over the world.
Flash mobs have gathered for other reasons but we are trying to see how many cachers we can get together at the same time and beat last year’s record.

The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer.

Schedule of Events:

IMPORTANT: If you get to the area before 14:00h (2:00 PM) mill about and mosey. Be nonchalant and casual. Look like a muggle tourist! Don't look like a gathering waiting to happen.

The event will be tightly organized with a minute-by-minute itinerary (synchronized with the GPS clock, of course).

13:59 – Arrive in the area

14:00 – A cache container will be placed on the ground at the coordinates to signal the start. Quickly gather around.

14:01 - You will drop your logbook page in a cache container. The sheets will later become the log book.

14:05 - A meal per cacher will be distributed!
- draw for first-to-find honors!
- draw for other prizes
- Swap coins/TBs/caching stories!

14:12 - Group photo.

14:14 - One minute warning. Prep to leave but don't "look" like you are prepping.

14:15 - Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area as quickly as you gathered. Act like nothing happened.

Meet elsewhere if desired. The log sheet collection box will be packed up and sealed away. The event area will be vacated without a trace. Although participants are welcome to get together for socializing or whatever after the event, the event will officially be over at 14:15.

Smile at the muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?"
