Hjärtasjö-Pehr
Pehr Pehrsson (1828-1896) eller ”Hjärtasjö-Pehr” som han ofta kallades var en mycket duktig naturläkare som hade sin mottagning i det vackert belägna torpet vid Hjärtasjön. Hit kom långväga patienter och stannade ibland upp till en vecka för att få omvårdnad. Ryktet om Hjärtasjö-Pehrs kunnande var vida känt. När sockenstämman 1891fick erbjudande om att provinsialläkaren i Broby ville öppna mottagning i Lönsboda avslogs förslaget eftersom man tyckte att det bara skulle medföra kostnader för kommunen ”utan motsvarande nytta”, man hade ju Hjärtasjö-Pehr! Många av medicinalväxterna odlades på Hjärtanäs som Pehr kallade sitt torp, andra örter samlade han in i naturen och sedan köpte han en del medikamenten på apoteket i Broby.
Numera finns de flesta av hans läkekonstböcker på Broby hembygdsmuseum, men här följer några smakprov på Pehrs recept.
Mot öronohyra: Dryp några droppar bittermandel eller linolja i örat så kommer krypet ut. Surdeg lagd kring örat eller stekt äpple uträttar detsamma.
Mot sömnlöshet: Stöt vallmofrö i vin, lägg det på ett kläde över huvudet, det befordrar sömn, stärker hjärnan och gör huvudet gott.
Förutom intresset för läkekonst var Hjärtasjö-Pehr djupt religiös och gick ofta ända upp till Urshult för att få höra den kände Per Nyman predika, vissa söndagar gick han till mässan i Kyrkhult och höll även mottagning i en släktingsgård där. Man har också hittat anteckningar där Pehr har försökt tyda livsgåtorna med bibelns hjälp. Bland annat skulle jorden gå under 7777 och 7/9 år efter skapelsen.
Idag ägs Hjärtasjötorpet av kommunen. Många läger och utflykter från olika skolor förläggs hit så platsen besöks frekvent av mycket barn varför cachen ligger en bit från själva Hjärtasjötorpet. Rekommenderas att gå den utstakade rundan runt sjön som dock kan vara lite fuktig beroende på väderlek och årstid på vissa ställen.

Hjärtasjö-Pehr
Pehr Persson (1828-1896) often called ”Hjärtasjö-Pehr”, was a very skilled nature healer who had his consulting-room in the beautifully located cottage by lake Hjärtasjön. Patients from far away came to his place and sometimes they stayed as long as one week to be treated. It was widely known that Hjärtasjö-Pehr had the reputation of being very skilled. In 1891, When the parish assembly was offered the establishment of a doctor’s consultingroom in the village of Lönsboda, the proposal was rejected. They argued that this would only lead to council expenses without getting something in return as they had Hjärtasjö-Pehr! Pehr called his cottage “Hjärtanäs” and here he grew many of his medical plants. He collected other plants from the fields and he also bought some medicine from the chemist’s of the village of Broby.
Nowadays, most of his medical books can be seen at the local museum of Broby. Here are some examples of Pehr’s prescriptions:
Ear vermin: add drops of oil of bitter almonds into the ear and the insect vill come out. Leaven placed around the ear or fried apples will have the same effect.
Sleeplessness: crush poppy seeds in wine and put then into a piece of cloth. This is good for the sleep, strengthens the brain and has a wholesome effect on the head.
Beside his interest in medicine, Hjärtasjö-Pehr also had s deep interest in religion and he often went the long way to the village of Urshult to hear the well-known Per Nyman preach. Some Sundays he went to the service of Kyrkhult and he also offered medical consultations in a relative’s farm. Documents have been found showing that Pehr tried to solve the enigmas of life with the help of the Bible. He predicted, for example, that the world would come to an end 7777 and 7/9 years after its creations.
Today his cottage is called “Hjärtasjötorpet” and the council owns it. Many camps and excursions of different schools take place here and children often visit the place. Therefore, the cache is located at a certain distance from Hjärtasjötorpet. It is recommend to follow the marked trail around the lake. However, the ground can be somewhat wet here and there depending on the weather and season.
