Geocache Description:


The Pickett Bridge was the site of a trolley that connected Sullivan's Island to Mt Pleasant from 1898-1927. There was a bridge built on Hog's Head barrels across Cove Inlet during the Civil and Revolutionary Wars. The Hunley crew passed over the bridge on their way to Breach Inlet to test dive the Hunley before the attack of the USS Housatonic. After 1927 the trolley bridge was replaced by a vehicle bridge known as the Pitt street bridge.

This cache is in a fairly well traveled area. Watch for muggles! The cache is the size of a 35mm film canister covered in duct tape. The cache contains a small log so please bring a pen or pencil to log your visit.
