It's that time of year again! This year's
theme will based on the Truckee Meadows' creepy and haunted
places.
DATE: Saturday, October 25, 2008. Be sure to dress
appropriate for the weather!
TIME: 10AM- check-in. Each team will receive a packet that
includes the real caches & the scavenger hunt challenges. 2:30
PM- FINISH- cameras & paperwork submitted, & your finish
time recorded. Start & Finish lines are at different locations
this year.
START: Hidden Valley Park at N 39° 29.296 W 119°

FINISH: Round Table Pizza located at N 39° 33.342 W 119°
43.415 (1201 Baring Blvd, Sparks)
TEAMS: Teams may consist of no less than two people and no
more than the number of seatbelts you have in your vehicle.
Individuals are welcome but you will be placed on a team before
starting the event & unite under one team name.
AWARDS: There will be two TEAM awards.
REQUIREMENTS: All teams will be required to have a digital
camera & a few pens to fill in the information required, spare
batteries, warm clothing, snacks/drinks. Don't have a digital
camera,.....borrow one!
HOW DO I SIGN UP? Post a note here and PLEASE include the #
of children under 13 on your team. We want to be sure we have
enough treat bags for all our little goblins!
WHEN I SIGN UP WHAT DO I INCLUDE? Please include your Team
Name & the # of adults & # of youth on your team (be
creative with your team name, it is HALLOWEEN!!!)
HOW DO I DONATE PRIZES? Please contact GBES through the
forums on gbesgeo.org we will have a thread set up for this event
under the "Events" page.
HOW DO I HELP AT THIS EVENT: Please contact GBES through the

HOW WILL I BE JUDGED? All real caches will have a
point value. Completing the real caches and scavenger hunt
challenges will earn points. Just remember that the final check-in
is at 2:30 PM. BONUS POINTS if you come in costume!
REAL CACHES: Real caches for this event will be micro or
small caches. Each micro will contain a log & stickers with
different symbols on them . Each symbol has a pre-assigned point
value (the point value is a secret that only GBES Admin knows!)
Each team should choose ONE sticker from the cache container and
stick it on your cache page (that will be provided at sign in). You
may choose all the same or you may choose a variety BUT you can
only have in your possession 5 stickers. There are only 5 real
caches; therefore each team should have ONLY 5 stickers.
NO WHINING POLICY: GBES ADMIN will
NOT tolerate whining! You will
be deducted 1,000,000,000 points for WHINING!!! AND put in
charge of next years event!
