Close to the Driftwood Provincial Recreation area on the Smith Dorrien highway (740). Park at the Recreation area, and follow the creek across the highway and up into the timbered area. The cache is a 6"x4"x6" LnL. Original contents include two travel bugs.
This is a beautiful area at any time of year, easily accessible via the Smith Dorrien highway from Canmore or from the south off highway 40.
The cache is located close to the Driftwood Provincial Recreation area where there is parking and picnic facilities, boat launch, and toilets. Campsites are also close by.
The cache location is in the timber above the road, near to the creek running into the Driftwood picnic area. Take care crossing the road!
This is a public area with no formal trails so we have located the cache as close as possible to both the creek and the road, while using the timber as a cover, to minimize the amount of traffic over the forest floor. Please respect this environment and enjoy this beautiful location.
This cache is dedicated to our second son/grandson who we hope will have many happy experiences in our great outdoors. We hope that cachers will follow a camping/outdoors experience theme in their trades whenever possible.
