Geocache Description:

A small lock-tight container, holding a log book, pen and lots of handy household things.

Dooley, pictured in Strathconon, is Redzer’s Black Labrador who was born on 25/07/2002. Redzer has always loved dogs and hadn’t owned one until a colleague suggested she adopt one of eleven puppies born to her father’s dog, Treacle. A trip down to Chilmark, Wiltshire later and Dooley (aka Carolina Crackerjack) joined the family. For four years, Dooley attended a dog training school in Graveley and benefited from the experience of the trainers, one of whom is now on Dog Borstal.

Dooley has done the odd working trial and achieved his Companion Dog qualification by completing a 10 minute down stay, 2 minute sit stay, 6ft scale, 9ft long jump, 3ft standing jump, heelwork, search square, dumb-bell retrieve and a send away (being sent to a position and then being directed at distance to sit/stand/lie down). His scores at an Open CD Trial on 29/01/2006 held in Kings Lynn were 20/20 Jumps, 4/5 Heelwork on Lead, 7.5/10 Heelwork Off Lead, Recall 5/5, Sendaway 6.5/10, Stays 19/20, Retrieve 9/10, Search 17.5/20 Total 88.5/100.

Dooley is very driven; he loves achieving and although he’ll get over 6 foot scales without a problem, he is scared of certain types of flooring!

Redzer, Dooley and Max love walking around here. If you see them about, please see hi. Good luck and please take a photo if possible! Do take some time to ensure that the container and its protective bag are properly sealed.

It’s possible to do all of Redzer’s caches in this area as part of a roughly circular walk, starting in Digswell at N51° 49.206 W0° 11.470. The walk is approximately 8.25km using the following route. Redzer has walked this in 1 hour and 25 minutes, without stopping at the cache sites:- Redzer’s Reserve ~ Max’s Mooch ~ Vanilla's Villa ~ Redzer’s Ramblings ~ Misty's Meander ~ Ardal's Amble ~ Big Bunnies' Box ~ Pebble's Pad ~ Duke & Dutch ~ Pastry's Promenade ~ Tino's Trek ~ Sweetpea's Stroll ~ Dooley’s Dell ~ Redzer’s Rabbits ~ Truffle’s Trove ~ Redzer’s Rapids ~ Redzer’s Tartan Teaser

Redzer hopes this circuit can be an eco-friendly caching experience, allowing individuals to appreciate the beautiful landscape and wildlife through walking rather than driving. Although this won’t be suitable for everyone, she’d be grateful if cachers restricted driving to travelling to Digswell, should public transport not be available. If people drive on the by-ways, it may upset the farming staff and adds to the circuit's carbon-footprint.

There are a few watering holes around this circuit. The Cowper Arms, by Welwyn North Station, which also has a café, at N51° 49.460 W0° 11.552 is close to the start/finish co-ordinates of N51° 49.206 W0° 11.470 and The Plume of Feathers at N51° 49.355 W0° 9.487 is near Pastry's Promenade.

Congratulations to ~*teamtan*~ for being the first to successfully complete the whole circuit in one go and by foot!
