Geocache Description:

This cache is the fourth in a series of caches meant to bring cachers to many equestrian staging areas and to share my love of this wonderful animal with them. All of the caches will be on or near horse watering spots.

Granite Bay equestrian staging area is one of the better staging areas in the region, so not surprisingly it is also one of the most popular. This staging area is connected to some of the easier trails in the area so it attracts some of the newer horse owners in Placer County, it is also used as a social meeting place for many of the riders in the area. This staging area features a beautiful stone trough that horses usually will readily drink from, BBQ pits, many hitching posts and restrooms. It also features an interesting ramp in the parking lot, it's original use was to help horses load into the back of the large pick-up trucks that were popular before horse trailers were the norm. It is now used as an over-sized mounting block. The parking lot is large and is a good spot to park while finding a few nearby caches.

This regular sized cache is in a spot with surprisingly high Muggle traffic for the area, even though the Muggles will probably be distracted by their horses and hopefully not notice you. It contains the log book, pencil, a few trinkets and a TB. Sadly I forgot the FTF prize, so sorry! Of course in this type of area road apples wil be plentiful so tread lightly! Thanks so much and have a great time, I hope you spend a moment watching the special animals in this spot!
