The cache is hidden nearby the Franchti Cave, a place at the beach
between Fourni and Kilada.
This cave was continuously inhabited since the second half of the
Palaeolithic ages, during the Mesolithic and up to the later
Neolithic ages (25.000-3.000 BC), something rare in Europe.
The finding of volcanic glass tools in the cave, which is a rock
only found in the island of Melos, shows us that the cave
inhabitants sailed the Aegean sea, so as to bring this rock in the
cave.
There are also a lot of fish bones and fish hooks found, which
indicates the nutritional habits of the inhabitants.
Findings also include a full skeleton of an adult, which is the
most ancient full skeleton found in Greece and the unique case of
Mesolithic burial in the Aegean sea.

Coming from Athens and heading towards Kranidi, about 400 metres
after the little village Fourni you will see the first
brown-coloured sign that will lead you to the Cave. Make this right
turn and follow the instuctions of the signs. After parking at the
beach head south along the beach untill you see the last sign. From
here on you must follow the orange arrows painted on the rocks.
This path will lead you to the Cave.
