Geocache Description:

A beautiful view of the Juan de Fuca Straight and the Olympic Peninsula. No PEN in this cache!

I officate at many weddings here and I have always wanted to hide a cache in this spot. The glade is so peaceful and the view wonderful - my 45th hide for my 45th Birthday! FTF prize unactivated Amandazon geocoin, 2TF prize unactivated Amandazon geocoin. Have a look at the nearby Spindle Whorl that was just unveiled. It is a sculpture by Coast Salish carver Butch Dick and is an enlarged version of what the local Lekwungen women used to spin wool. The theme of this sculpture is "The Cairens" (rocks placed in circular patterns to signify ancient burial sites). From 1000 years ago to about 300 years ago there was a settlement here that was intermittently occupied. On the sculpture itself are Sea otters who are considered the keepers of spiritual powers and are playful spirits who assist others.
