ENG: Easy four step hunt to lead you throughout the Redipuglia War Cemetery to
find the cache.
NOTE: if you want to do a quick visit of the memorial then go directly to the cache use the hint ;).
ITA: Facile percorso in quattro tappe che vi condurrà attraverso i luoghi più importanti del Sacrario di Redipuglia al fine di trovare la cache.
NOTA: se volete fare un veloce giro del sacrario per andare direttamente al cache usate l'hint ;).
ITA: Nella memoria storica collettiva nazionale il nome “Redipuglia” è sinonimo simbolico di Grande Guerra e di Carso. Questo lembo di terra all’inizio della guerra fu uno dei primi campi di battaglia, dove si contrapposero i due eserciti. Alla conclusione del conflitto divenne il luogo simbolo della memoria e la meta dei viaggi del ricordo; da fenomeno popolare, collegato alla visita del grande cimitero militare realizzato negli anni ’20 sul colle S.Elia, si trasformò, con la realizzazione del grande “Sacrario dei Centomila”, in un luogo celebrativo della memoria nazionale. La realizzazione di questa struttura trova le sue motivazioni sia nella riorganizzazione del territorio, bonificando i numerosissimi piccoli cimiteri militari disseminati sul Carso, che nella volontà di celebrare il sacrificio del soldato caduto.
Questo percorso vi porterà sui luoghi notevoli del sacrario di Redipuglia, ma non dimenticate di visitare tutto ciò che possa attirare la vostra attenzione. ;)
La caccia inizia da 45° 51.015 N 013° 29.134 E dove è possibile parcheggiare l’auto.
Ora si deve entrare nel MUSEO DELLA III ARMATA per scoprire quante furono le medaglie d’oro della III armata (che indicheremo con la lettera a).
Orari di apertura: 9:00-12:00, 14:00-17:00, chiuso domenica, lunedì e festività. Telefono 0432 489024. Entrata libera.
Fatto questo è necessario esplorare il PARCO DELLA RIMEMBRANZA DEL COLLE S. ELIA che è adiacente al museo. Cercate l’obice da 152/13 e segnatevi la gittata massima (dato b).
Andate ora sulla collina di fronte, lì è sepolto il soldato LUIGI PIERPAN, raggiungete la sua lapide per scoprire in quale reggimento di fanteria era inquadrato (dato c).

ENG: In the national, collective, historical memory, the name “Redipuglia” is a synonym and symbol of World War I and the Karst. The fringe of land, which at the outbreak of the war, was one of the first battlefields where two armies faced each others, when the war was over became the symbol-place of the memory and destination for “trips of remembrance”; from being a popular phenomenon connected with visits to the large military cemetery made in the 1920s on St.Elia hill, it transformed itself in a place for celebrating the national memory through the building of the huge “Sacrario dei Centomila” . (Explanation taken from a board in Redipuglia War Cemetery).
The search begins from 45° 51.015 N 013° 29.134 E where you can park the car. Now you have to get into the MUSEUM OF THE THIRD ARMY in order to discover the total amount of the medaglie d’oro (gold medals) of the army, (that we will indicate with the letter a).
Opening hours: 9:00 – 12:00 14:00 – 17:00, closed on Saturdays, Mondays and Holidays. Phone number +390432 489024. Free entrance.
Now you have to explore the nearby PARCO DELLA RIMEMBRANZA DEL COLLE S. ELIA, hike the hill, find the obice (howitzer) 152/13 and take note of the gittata (range) (datum b).
Finally cross the main road and discover the white tomb of the soldier LUIGI PIERPAN, write down the number of his regiment (datum c).
