WWFM (World Wide Flash Mob Event): Dozens of events
all
around the world... Thousands of geocachers participating...
Coordinated to happen on the same day to bring together
geocachers
for a fun and unique event... These events will last EXACTLY
15
minutes,not one second longer.
SCHEDULE:
09:59 am: WR7X will reach ground zero with the
cache
container and a travel-bug trading container and start the
event.
Everyone can then make their way to GZ.
10:00 am: - Sign a logsheet. Drop it in the cache.
Mingle. Trade travel bugs, coins and swag. Share stories.
Brag.
Take pictures. Make arrangements to meet elsewhere, or to find
the
various caches in nearby areas (there are FOUR caches within
walking distance).
10:05 am: - a MEAL will be served (probably Hershey's
Kisses)
10:08 am: - Prize draw for FTF and donated items
10:12 am: - Assemble QUICKLY for a group photo.
10:14 am: - One minute warning is called "It is now
10:14!" Prepare to leave. But don't really look like you are
preparing to leave.
10:15 am EXACTLY: - Wait for it ... then
IMMEDIATELY
LEAVE the area. Meet somewhere else if desired.
The event area will be evacuated without a trace. The
event cache containers will be packed up. If you didn't get to
it
in time you can't log the event. Only those participants
whose
names appear on the log sheets may log this event.
If you arrive early, stay at least 30 feet away from
Ground
Zero. Stay in your car, walk around, ride your bike (if u
brought
yours), play on the playground equipment, or just act
nonchalant!!!
Act like you don't know anyone else. There will be a draw
made
after everyone has placed their names into the cache container
for
the privilege of getting the 'FTF' designation. There may also
be
more 'prizes' if anyone out there wants to donate something for
a
similar draw, feel free to add something to the pot!
Hopefully there may be some muggles nearby who will wonder
"What
did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the fun!)
We
will supply fliers to those who ask.
If everything goes right we will have lots of people coming
out
of nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching
event
and then disappearing…This could be lots of fun and maybe
even
raise a few muggle eyebrows !
Be sure to post a "Will Attend" log on the cache page so I can
get an idea of how many will be there.
