***THE LAST THING I WANT IS FOR THIS CACHE TO BE A TRAVEL BUG PRISON. HOWEVER, RECENTLY THIS CACHE WAS TOTALY CLEANED OUT. PLEASE TRY TO LEAVE AT LEAST ONE TRAVELER BEHIND IF YOU TAKE SOMETHING. THAT WAY OTHER CACHERS WON'T FIND A VACANT MOTEL.***
Welcome to The Springs Travel Bug Motel. This cache is with in easy access of I4. Food, lodging, and fuel are available for those cachers who are passing through. The cache is located along the beautiful Seminole Wekiva Trail. Parking is available about 25 feet from the cache. The cache is an ammo can with some basic camo paint. The easiest way to approach this one is to go along the wall a little ways. Stealth is especially important on the weekend when the trail gets the most use. Make sure you rehide this one well.
If you take a bug please leave one if at all possible. This is more of a courtesy for other cachers. If you can help a bug out please take it. The last thing I want is for this cache to become a travel bug prison.
Historical Note
This cache is named in honor of a park that was built across the street in the 1920’s. The park incorporated several of Florida’s natural springs and included things like outdoor dance floors. The springs were surrounded by cement walls and were used as natural swimming pools year around. The park eventually purchaced by developers who incorperated some of the springs into a subdivision. Two springs were saved from development and have been reclaimed by nature.
