Believe it or not, if you were standing here about fifty years ago you would be waiting to Tee off on the first hole of the Old Reid Park Golf Course.
The first drive was always deceiving since it would stay airborne for a while but not really go far since the air time was in a downward direction.
Looking out to the west you could plan your shots for half the course at once - not that any of that planning helped me.
If you listen carefully you can almost hear the crack of that first drive leaving the Tee.
Over by the tower at the dam there was even a petting zoo to bring the little ones to. Ah, such is progress.
During the summer there will be a lot of muggles up and down the steps so stealth will be needed. Please use caution in replacing cache back in its original position.
