Easy walk along Bank of River Welland - parking is available close by.
The River Welland runs through the Historic Town of Spalding, on its way out to Sea at The Wash.
The walk itself is along a Public FP, which is part of the Brown Fen Trail. .
There is a stile to negotiate at the start of the walk, and underfoot can become muddy/puddly after heavy rain. Cattle also graze the area at times, therefore control of ‘Geodogs’ is essential.
If the weather is favourable you can sometimes see the dinghies from the local Sailing Club manoeuvring their craft along the narrow river.
It is also the base for the Spalding River Taxi’s, which run in the Summer months from Spalding Town to the outlying Outlet Centre and Gardens. The Cache itself is located just off the footpath, with a slight downward incline to reach your goal. As the Cache has recently been 'muggled', it has now been replaced with a torpedo-style container, with only room for a log book and pencil.
Whilst visiting Spalding why not check out our other Cache at GC1H2BV - Coronation Wander
FTF!!! Congratulations to tiggersabout.
