#4 in the Fun With Signs series. An easy multi / puzzle cache. About 2.5 miles (or so) down Wanapum Rd. S off I-90, just S of the state park camping area (not in the state park). The area is open during daylight hours.
The above coordinates are not for the cache but will lead you to a parking spot just off the road where one used to be able to see a fun sign. But --- it's not there anymore . . . .
BIG HINT! Recently the important sign was removed. The mystery words on the sign were --
"DAY USE PERMITTED"
In the middle of the fun sign are three words (^^ see above!^^), printed in capital letters, represented by the title of this cache. The three words are easy to spot. Some astute geocachers may even figure out the words before they see the sign!
Using these three completed words taken from the fun sign fill in the blanks of the cache title. Then you can solve the mystery puzzle to find the nearby cache, less than 200 yards away.
Cache coordinates are:
N 46 degrees 5A.BCD minutes
W 119 degrees 5E.FGH minutes
Using the three completed words and the top secret cryptographic alphabet code
a=1 b=2 c=3 d=4 e=5 etc.
solve this puzzle to fill in the missing numbers of the cache coords.
A= third word's 1st letter minus third word's 4th letter
B= first word's 1st letter plus last word's final letter
C= first word's 2nd letter
D= third word's 6th letter minus second word's 2nd letter
E= third word's 5th letter
F= second word's 1st letter minus third word's 3rd letter
G= third word's 7th letter minus third word's 1st letter
H= second word's 1st letter minus third word's 4th letter
Finished? Go find the cache! And yes, signs can be fun!
Cache is a small plastic jar concealed in a common manner. Please recap tightly and reconceal well.
This is a nice spot along the Columbia River. This section of the river often becomes very windy in the afternoon with whitecaps out on the water. The nearby state park would be a good place to camp, have a picnic or play on the sandy beach area.
Have fun,......didn't see any, but snake warning should probably be in effect during spring, summer and early fall months.
