Scott & Judy Learn 2 Count Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Prime Reviewer: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Trail of the Cybercat Part 3

Above coordinates are not the real ones, you must solve the puzzle below for the true coordinates.

If the eponymous cachers are FTF, they may claim a lunch at Bill Miller's as a FTF prize.

I parked along side the road, but it is frequently busy. Pls be careful.

Warning!

Do not attempt this cache before, after, or during rain. There is some construction occurring where you need to enter for the cache - best to wait until they are done or try this on weekends.

Now that people have warmed up on 2 easy caches, it's time to see if another cache can provide some amusement by being a bit more difficult.

One way to increase the difficulty is to carefully study a location and then lovingly craft a creative and cunning cache container to fit in so well, that cachers will not "see" the cache even though that look right at it. I've cached a number of those types from the eponymous cachers (for this cache).

Unfortunately, I am not that creative, and my cunning rarely rises above a box, stick, string, and piece of cheese.

You are stuck with the second method, which is to create a puzzle cache with some obscure topic or means of encoding the coordinates that your eyes glaze over just reading the description.

Don't let that happen to you here, or you might fall over a Cliff. I Stoll this idea and have put a small twist on it so that it is not a 30-second puzzle.

Given the sequence:
a
aa
ba
abaa
aaabba
find the next "word" of the sequence. Use the first and last 3 letters of the new word (where a = 1, b = 2, etc) in this formula to find the cache's real location.

LAT = N 29 37.199 + first_three
LON = W 098 31 358 - last_three

Say the next word is abcmmmdef.

LAT = N 29 37.199 + 123 = N 29 37 322
LON = W 098 31 358 - 456 = W 098 30.902

It isn't like you have to be a PhD in astronomy to get this!

To be fair, I will provide no private (email hints) until 3 people have logged it. If no one solves it for an extended period of time, I'll post additional hints on this page.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

Remember! As with all the Trail of the Cybercat series caches, you need to get the clue from the cache or listing in order to solve the final cache.
