This is a quick cache and dash key box. Back up after recent construction activities.
This cache sits at the base of Mount Calahan, some 3600' above. The mountain is made of mostly shales and holds deep within it's core, treasures such as oil shale and natural gas. Drill rigs now dot the ridge lines as well as the slopes below, drilling for gas. Watch out for oil and gas traffic as you pull over to claim this one. Lot of traffic uses this frontage road as the main way in and out of Parachute. TOO much trouble getting on and off the interstate during the early mornings and late afternoons.
