Mr Waddlebums ?. Well, that was Chip's nickname due to the very
amusing way his little bum waddled when he walked.
The Cache is hidden out on Berry Down where we used to take Chip
for a "Waddle", and near by is an O.S. triangulation pillar called
Hut Curcle Camp which is worth a visit while you are there. This is
visible from the cache location and is included in the wapoint
table along with the parking area.
From the parking area take the public footpath up to Berry Down
which is signposted on the opposite side of the road. Care must be
taken by all when you reach the cache area.
Depending on the route you take it can be quite rocky and there are
hollows covered by the undergrowth to catch you out, ( I know this
as I nearly ended up munching on the bracken after discovering one
while I was looking for a hidy hole). Also the public footpath
leading to Berry Down can be quite muddy so sensible footware is a
must.
The cache is a 2.6 litre clip lock box containing the usual
logbook, pen and trading items.
