An easy cache near a beautiful wetland. The gully is nestled near the schools in Torbay and is home to waterfowl of various sorts, a sizeable rainbow trout population and a plethora of plants and insects. We can see the gully from our house and enjoy watching the changing seasons.
I've been told by local purveyors of legend that horses have been lost through the ice in the gully in winter - the pond is deeper than it looks! Games of hockey are also a common sight here, while summer finds the osprey fishing in the pond and river. Human fishers routinely try their luck (with success) as well!
Container is small, camoflaged and about twice the size of a film cannister. BYOP!! Couldn't fit a reasonable and reliable pencil in this one!
At the time of posting, it contained the following small objects:
- log sheet
- clay turtle
- weensie teapot
- NWT 1999 Western Canada Games pin
- Ontario coat of arms pin
- Manitoba coat of arms pin
- Nova Scotia Flag pin
- town of Grand Bank, NL pin
- Canada Post pin
- St. John's Maple Leafs pin
- Newfoundland Summer Games 1988 pin
