This is one of a number of Flash Mob events being held
simultaneously around the world at the same time. Here's a link to
the others!
Other WWFM's
For the unititiated, a Flash Mob event is a micro event, which
takes place at a given time and lasts for a specific time.
The Basic Idea:
This Event is only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign
a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.
The World Wide Flash Mob Event: Dozens of events all
around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring
together geocachers. Come be part of this historic event!
The event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not one second
longer.
The event will begin PRECISELY at 16h00 on 8 November
2008. The event will be held in the shadow of the Aspire Tower.
This is in an open public space.
The Plan:
At exactly 16h00 (as determined by the GPS clock) we will place
a container at the coordinates. At this point, all geocachers will
converge, seeming to come out of "nowhere" and log their
attendance. Logbook will be provided.
We will hand out "log sheets". Participants will sign the log
sheets (which will later become a log book), to qualify for
attendance and drop them in the collection box. Bring a pen.
Participants may trade swag via the swag bucket at any time. If any
muggles are curious about the event we will have fliers that
explain geocaching. At a designated time, we will take a group
photo. At a designated time we will also have a "FLASH MEAL".
At precisely 16h15 the container and the log sheets will be
packed up and sealed away. The event area will be vacated without a
trace!!! Events that happen after 16h15 do not count as part of
THIS event. Only those participants whose names appear on the log
sheets may log the event.
Note: The Event will be over at 16h15 but those who wish may
retire to the nearby Villaggio Mall where we can continue some
"socializing" afterwards and exchanging of caching stories, TB's
and coins.
