This cache is my first and has been placed to commemorate my 100th find. I feel it is time to immerse myself fully into the caching community and give something back.
So, without further adieu I give you...."Not My Gumdrop Buttons" so named because it is a button cache. This cache is placed in Pine Grove Park. During my caching adventures, I have been to beautiful, quirky, or historical places, parks and points of interest. I spoke briefly with the director who told me this is moreso a community center as it merely has a field and no recreational equipment. Enjoy yourself nonetheless.
The white structure on the property is located in the historical register. It is the Pine Grove Rosenwald School. This school built in 1923 at a cost of $2500, is one of 500 African American schools in SC funded in part by Julius Rosenwald Foundation from 1917 to 1932. It is a 2 room school typical of smaller Rosenwald schools. From 1923 to 1950 an average of 40-50 students a year attended this school in grades 1-7. Please hide cache just as you found it.
