From the parking follow the road about 10-13 minutes and bear
left in a sharp right turn following route SL EP 108,
white/green.
The fairly steep path winds up through black fine lavagrid,
which makes it more or less a strenuous climb leading all the way
up. When the lavapath bears right towards another steep part in the
route bear left towards the top/crater of the volcano.
After finding the cache you can either go back the same way or
continue the hike to make a great roundtrip!
Follow the marked trail up for about 15 minutes, where the trail
is getting less steep. You'll pass a small "top" and see a clear
trail on your left side marked with a cairn/stones/Steinmanchen.
Follow these cairns. Reaching a small barranco keep right untill
you meet a clear way to cross en keep left downwards. You will
reach a "forestroad". Bear left and follow it all the way down for
about an hour enjoying the views on your right hand side.
Take about 3-4 hours for this great hike !
Be sure to wear good hikingboots and taking plenty of drinks
!!
Rother Wanderfuhrer, 2008 , hike nr. 43 is the trail
described.
