NOT ROCKET SCIENCE Traditional Cache

Star*Hopper: Had a good run, but gone for good so, time to lay this one to rest. If you were one of the DNFs here, it was a mag-micro, hand-painted with rust-looking paint to resemble a rusty bolt tip, and it was attached bottom center of the main axle, IN PLAIN SIGHT TO ALL. One of my more 'artistic' endeavors, cachewise. Many Thanks to all visitors, stay safe and well thru these trying times!

I first encountered this 'sight' back in the early 70's, so at first wondered if it was still even there now, since Hwy 11 had been almost completely revamped in recent years. I asked a friend who passes by each day & was tickled to hear it was indeed! So, its longevity is something to speak of from the outset....especially considering it's survived every hurricane & other major storms we've had! I remember stopping to snap some pictures of this unusual scene, and the owner strolled out & we introduced ourselves. A pleasant & exceptionally nice individual, I quipped that I might send the photos to NASA so they could see some REAL down-home rocket science - and we both had a good laugh. After revisiting to ask permission to place the cache, was pleased to hear he remembered our previous encounter & little joke from all those years ago.

Be SURE to bring your camera along - you wouldn't want to miss the 'photo-op' this unique piece of folk-art provides! Space helmets & EVA suits at your option!! *LOL*

Please DO NOT climb on or even handle the structure - not neccessary at all, & we wouldn't want to lose our visiting privileges!! And keep a safe distance if the breeze is blowing! You'll know why when you get there.
