Geocache Description:

Royal view is a traditional geocache with expansive coastal views and easy access from four directions. To log your visit record and update the geocoin tracking number attached to the cache container. The container is only suitable for small ‘swaps’. The coordinates listed are for on street parking to the north of the cache.

The views here can be spectacular particularly with the setting sun. The cache location overlooks the Open Golf Championship Course, Royal Troon ‘The Old Course, and its championship qualifier course, ‘Troon Portland’, and the municipal golf course ‘Lochgreen’. The cache sits off the national cycle route 7 which at this point runs parallel to the West Coast mainline between Stranraer and Glasgow.

Royal Troon Golf Club was formed on 16th March 1878 and the course opened with 6 holes in 1880. 8 years later the course had 18 holes and almost a century later it recieved its 'Royal' accolade in 1978.

The location can be accessed from:
• The listed coordinates: (Head South on the cycle route 7)
• Southwood Road, Troon (If you want to park very close to ‘The Wood’)
• Crosbie Road, Troon (If you know the area)
• Prestwick (Head North on the cycle route 7)

The coordinates listed are for the most convenient on street parking area to the North of the cache and allows an easy walk to the cache site. So where is the cache?
