The cache is a green 1 litre nalgene and is hidden along the drive up to the old prison. You can park within a few feet of the cache, and you do not need to scale the wall.
We are up here from time to time, now that the prison is closed, just because the grounds are so beautiful. Perhaps with so many captive workers, they were able to entertain somewhat more elaborate landscaping ideas! The prison has been closed for several years, and the buildings are locked and fenced. (with 30 ft barbed-wire-topped fences no less) However, the lake, streams and grounds are open to the public. It is regularly used by muggles walking their dogs off-leash. The property is immense and as such, the city has been slow to decide what to do with such a large parcel of land. In the mean time, enjoy the grounds and good luck with the cache!
