After several "Meet and Greet" events locally in recent months,
it was noticed that the same topics kept cropping up. These
included people wanting to gain more knowledge or skills in using
their GPS for navigation, also the "want" to visit several "Out of
the way" caches. Well this will give one and all the chance to get
the most from their geocaching experience.
The event will be open to new and old Cachers and everyone is
invited to contribute to the event if they wish, if you have some
knowledge or skills please post them in your intention to attend
and they will be added to the listing and placed in a programe of
events that will be advised the week prior to the event.
Location: The Mount Somers Domain camp ground is situated
in the centre of the township. There are basic amenities at the
camp including Kitchen, shower and toilet facilities. The local
general store is well stocked and the local drinking establishment
is directly over the road from the camp. Everyone who attends will
be responsible for their own accommodation and food for their time
at the event. The cost of sites at the event is $10.00/unpowered
and $15.00/powered site. There is plenty of room for the kids to
play and a Tennis court, playground and small museum on site.
Assuming the weather is fine during the day there will be the
opportunity to do caches in the area, with the "Workshops" taking
place in the evenings.
If you would like to attend please provide the following info in
your "Intention" log:
-Dates attending
-Number attending
-What (if anything) you would like to learn more about
-Skills or knowledge you would like to share
-Any caches in the area you would like to "Find"
-If you have a 4WD vehicle
-What type of GPS (or GPS's) you run and what paperless tools you
use.
-Shoe size (this is optional)
Please log our intentions ASAP to allow for planning of
activities/workshops.
Also all those attending please place this listing on your "Watch
List" so you will automatically receive the most up to date info on
the event.
