Forde Abbey was founded over 800 years ago by Cistercian monks. After the Dissolution in 1539 it lay empty for 100 years before being transformed into the family home & award winning gardens it is today - open to the public and home to the tallest powered fountain in England.
Here is a two cache series to take you around the Abbey without entering the grounds and leading you to a bonus cache - a local map showing the Jubilee Trail may be useful
Walking to this cache from the suggested parking will give you a fine view towards the Abbey to the North, through the formal Ride.
Please park sensibly, see the waypoint below for recommended location and take care not to block any field entrances. Although this is a quiet country lane please take all reasonable care accessing the cache.
