This will be my 50th cache hide. So I decided I wanted to do
something special for it.
I have been thinking about doing a cache along these lines for a long time. So while searching for caches in the Dallas Fort Worth area, I spotted a Texas ABC cache. So I kind of borrowed their cache page info and modified it for Kansas. Thanks goes to txoilgas for allowing me to borrow their cache info.
This is a Challenge Cache based on one of the first things we teach
our kids, the ABCs. Here's your chance to meld the ABCs with geocaching-- a challenge cache to work on.
To claim this cache, you need to hide/find and log 26 other caches, one for each letter of the alphabet. All caches must be found/hidden in KANSAS ON or AFTER 18 October 2008.
Here’s the process that you will have to follow to complete this Challenge:
1. Create a public bookmark called “Kansas ABC Challenge"
2. Include this cache in your bookmark; since you haven’t found it yet, it doesn’t count – you will need another “K” cache
3. Keep this bookmark public for a minimum of 1 month after completing the challenge.
4. Include one Kansas state cache you have found/hidden for each letter of the alphabet. In the cache bookmark comments, include the date you found the cache. Caches found/hidden before the publish date of this cache do not qualify for this Challenge.
5. Successfully hide/find and log caches or events with the names of the
caches which begin with each letter of the alphabet. (26 caches)
Examples: The Cat’s Meow = T
Whiskers of the Cat = W
Marmalade Cat= M
Boots =B
“King of the Cats” = K
1 More Black Cat = Won’t count for this challenge cache!
One More Black Cat = O
A look at your alphabetized bookmark list will indicate whether or not you have found/hidden a cache for each letter.
6..Once you complete your list, you can go to the final listed on the cache page and log the final. We will verify your cache list anyone that has not found/hidden all 26 caches, your log will be deleted.
7. The cache is not at the posted coordinates. But It is a great place to learn all about your ABC's. See the additional Waypoints for the final cache location. But do not go there until your list has been approved or your log will be deleted.
8. Some new caches might have to be hidden to complete this challenge. All new caches placed after 10/18/2008 will count toward your ABC's requirements. So help out if you can so others will have plenty of caches to find.
9. This cache has been given this particular difficulty ranking because we have no idea which caches you may choose to do for this challenge, it will take some time to complete, and some planning as well. We hope you enjoy this twist to our mutual hobby/passion/obsession.
