Geocache Description:

Easily found cache hidden in the shadow of Sunnyvale's little-known lighthouse.

When I first moved to the Bay Area in the summer of '99, one of my favourite places to frequent--being the computer geek that I was at the time--was Fry's Electronics in Sunnyvale. Driving from 101, locals know they can bypass the slow traffic lights on Lawrence by taking a little detour in front of AMD headquarters, down Stewart, left at Santa Trinita to Fry's. The first time I took this shortcut I was shocked to discover a bona fide lighthouse just off the street, no body of water anywhere in sight. The Public Storage building was originally a Shurgard storage facility and featured the company's signature lighthouse; Shurgard's US operations were acquired by Public Storage in 2006.

The cache is a small green plastic container containing just the log with little room for anything else. Bring your own writing implement; lots of muggle traffic during the day on most days, so be discreet.
