A long time ago, there was a kingdom ruled by King Ohm-on-deRange, who lived in the Castle Porte Occidentale. Once a year, the serfs and peasants of the kingdom would gather the finest gossamer, spun by the spiders of the kingdom -- this was commonly known as "serfing the web". They would then travel to the castle to pay "ohmage" to the king and present him with the gossamer, as a tribute.
To travel to the castle, from each of the four directions, there were seven colorful paths.
The paths from the North and West were much easier to travel than the paths from the South and East (not shown below). For this reason, you might say that the paths from the North and West represented the paths of least resistance.
[11/14/2011: Replaced container in a slightly different location, hopefully less likely to be muggled (Puzzle-solution coords did not change). Made hint more explicit]
Cache is a magnetic nano - bring your own pen (and possibly tweezers). When retrieving or replacing container, be careful not to drop it, it may bounce inside and be lost!
Cache location is a popular destination, stealth may be required. Location may cause GPS signal problems. In winter, accessing the cache may require trudging through a bit of snow, but otherwise, cache is winter-friendly.
[Congrats to Loch Cache on FTF!!!]
Note: Hint is for cache location, not for solving the puzzle
