An easy find, probably a park and grab. Once there is snow on the ground the parking lot may be unaccessible, and the cache may become buried. Depending on local events taking place, beware of muggles! Monday nights in particular will present a challenge!
The cache is a regular size lock and lock tupperware container. Initial contents include a Tims certificate for FTF, a Canadian geocoin, an emergency blanket, a car deodorizer and a fragrance sachet.
The community of Uigg was settled in 1825 and the original settlers came here from the Isle of Skye.
The schoolhouse here was built in 1877 as a two room school housing students from grades 1 to 10. In 1950 it was converted to a one room schoolhouse, and remained so until it was closed at the time of school consolidation in 1967.
At that time the local Women’s Institute bought it and has maintained it for the use of the community. The community centre is now the focal point for the community, a place where community members can meet for various functions such as community showers, and 4-H meetings, WI meetings and “Meet your neighbour night”.
