This cache was placed in memory of Stephenandcarol. No, they didn't
come to a horrible end, its much worse then that. They moved! What
were they thinking? And we never even had the opportunity to have
lunch with them at any of the local establishments. All joking
aside, Steve was nice enough to grant me permission to add to his
already cool GBW series caches along what is now the Tomorrow River
Trail.
April 12, 1866 was the date that the charter was granted to
create the Green Bay and Western Railroad. This trail once hosted 2
through freights a day. One headed east and one headed west. The
end came when the Green Bay and Western was purchased by the
Wisconsin Central in 1993. The rails were lifted shortly after in
favor of the WC's better maintained line to the south.
There is a fee if you ride a bike. Otherwise it's free if you
walk.
Please make sure to re-hide the cache as good as when you found
it (or better). There is a lot of foot and bike traffic on the
Tomorrow River Trail during the warmer months so please use some
stealth.
