In the middle of North Main Street is a growing living memory for Mary Alice Hoag. Art Hoag started this project about three years ago, the original idea was to build a community woodworking shop but due to a lot of red tape, that idea was scraped and the start of this oasis began. This memorial park is on a city lot and a half, beautifully landscaped with a full size mural on the north wall of the park, a large and small fountain, two life size chess boards and several places to sit and relax with the soft sound of music in the background. Several groups use this area for gatherings with one of the local schools using the area for an occasional study hall. Art has recently added a small sand area that local kids use to do sand sculptures. Art is an incredible artist creating windmills out of wood turnings. This park is truly a labor of love that is available for all to enjoy. The park is usually open from 8:00am or so until dusk. Art has visions of local artists doing some of their creations in the park weather they stay in the park or are created in the park and moved else where. The park may also be available for some local low-keyed gatherings. If you are interested in having a gathering at this park, please stop by and talk to Art.
This cache is ONLY available when the park is open. The cache is not meant to be difficult; the idea is to share this find so that others can enjoy the beauty of this park. The container is somewhat fragile, please handle it with care and place back where you found it. Be stealthy, at time the park can be fairly busy. Enjoy.
