Ariundle Oakwoods walk not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs Cache approx 1 mile from car park way marked path, steep in places available 24/7 Dogs allowed Tics/midges
A big thank you to Scottish Natural Heritage ( SNH ) for allowing us to place the Cache .
Ariundle Oakwoods are approx 2 miles from the village of Strontian and are part of the scheme to regenerate the native oakwoods along Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan. They are home to a variety of wildlife, flora and fungi and most famously the Chequered Skipper Butterfly.
There are information boards along the path.
Take the main path from the car park, then the first path to your left, up and onwards to the cache. After finding the cache it is worthwhile continuing the walk, turning left when you meet the big track again, over the "Pooh Sticks" bridge and turn right to return to the carpark via the river walk.
