The Auckland Regional Council purchased this park between 1970 and 1973 to provide access to Hunua water catchment land.
It was subsequently developed as a regional park and opened by the Maori Queen in 1979.
You can find your own favourite spot and picnic with friends and family any time at Waharau Regional Park. Feel free to use the wood-fired BBQs provided.
There is a campsite at Blackberry Flat, or tramping access is available to two remote campsites.
This is a simple multi-cache, easily completed to allow you time to explore and enjoy the park. To find the cache you need to go to the listed co-ordinates where you will find some information.
The Final can be found at 37.02.ABC, and 175.17, XYZ.
