The published coordinates is good spot to park.

Makaraka Cemetery was purchased by Gisborne City in 1872. It is located 5.5Km from Gisborne on the main road leading to
Gisborne City.

Take the time to have a look around with many interesting gravestones, unfortunately many having been damaged by a recent earthquake.
See if you can locate the late 19th Century wooden headstone!!

This historic cemetery contains many memorials to early pioneers of the Poverty Bay district. Your mission is to first locate the handsome momument
in memory of the victims of the Poverty Bay Massacre of 1868 by Te Kooti. Sadly many victims being children.

The cache is a small 100ml canister at eye level (1.8 meters aprox) on a 35 meters radius off Te Kooti's Monument .
Caretaker to the cache is Elizabeth Charlotte Williams.
