Geocache Description:

Two Hundred ThirtySeventh in the Famous People (FP) Series - The Beaver
Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver
is portrayed by Jerry Mathers in the pilot "It's a Small World" and in all 234 episodes of the series.

Beaver is the seven-year-old son to suburbanites Ward and June Cleaver, and brother to thirteen-year-old Wally. The Cleavers live in fictional Mayfield. Ward is a white collar, brief case-toting professional, though his job is never specified. June is a fulltime homemaker. In the second season, Wally is a high schooler, and, being five years older than Beaver, often acts as a bridge between his parents and Beaver. He puts communications from the parents into kidspeak for Beaver, and keeps his parents apprised of Beaver's plans, feelings, and activities. The Cleavers dwell in a spacious house on Mapleton Drive during the first two seasons then move to a similar house on nearby Pine Street for the remaining four seasons. The family drives a Ford Fairlane.

Comprising six thirty-nine-week seasons and 234 episodes, the show debuted on CBS on October 4, 1957, moved to ABC the following year, and completed its first run on June 20, 1963. Though the show spanned the period in television history when filming was transitioning from black-and-white to color, the series was a single-camera, full-screen production filmed entirely in black-and-white on 35mm film.

During an interview celebrating the show's 50 year anniversary, when Jerry was congratulated for being an American icon, his response was "Thank you! It’s very interesting when one of the pinnacles of your career is when you’re 13."

During that same interview, he was asked if he remembered his first kiss.
My first kiss was Veronica Cartwright on Leave It to Beaver. Tony (Wally) kept teasing me about it. Like, “You’re going to kiss a girl, huh?” It wasn’t a big thing until he started saying things like that.

The picture shown here to the left is from their 50th anniversary celebration in 2007 and includes cast members Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford and Eddie Haskell (standing), with the Beaver, mother June and brother Wally seated. Father of the family, Ward Cleaver, was played by Hugh Beaumont who died in 1982.

The cache container is a bison tube matchstick holder pill bottle hidden along a walking path next to a pond. In order to avoid attracting attention, the cache is behind the last brick on the right side (as you stand on the sidewalk below) on the top row of the wall.
