Geocache Description:

You've heard of MEGA-EVENTS? This World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. Come be part of this historic micro event! Only 15 minutes long! There will be dozens of other events with thousands of other geocachers all coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers for a fun and unique event and to introduce other (muggles) to the fun of geocaching. You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.

Check out the geocaching search using WWFM to see all the other scheduled WWFM IV events. The event will begin precisely at 1:00 pm EST (as determined by the GPS clock) on November 8, 2008. The event will be held at the gazebo in Kent Lane Park in Philadelphia, New York (see coordinates above). This is in an open public space.

Minute by minute itinerary:

12:45 - 12:59
Mill about and mosey. Be nonchalant and casual. Look like a muggle. Don't look like a gathering waiting to happen. Mosey as realistically as you can. This is part of the fun. We will seem to appear out of nowhere.

1:00
One of the TeamTP members will walk to ground zero (the center of the gazebo) with two containers for logs and Travel Bugs. THIS IS THE SIGNAL THAT THE EVENT HAS BEGUN! At this point, all geocachers will converge, seemingly coming out of "nowhere".

If possible participants should come prepared with a 3x5 card or other sheet of paper already completed with their log in for the event made out to qualify for attendance and drop them into the designated container. PLEASE BYOP! (bring your own pen and paper). Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log the event. Teams with more than one member may submit a sheet for each individual member if they wish to do so.

If any muggles are curious about the event please feel free to answer questions and explain all about the joys of geocaching.

Mingle. Share stories. Brag. Trade TB's via the swap container. Take pictures. Drop your log sheets in the appropriate container. CITO the area!

Meal - Enjoy the official "meal" of chocolate candy minitures. Be sure to CITO your wrappers!

Group Photo - Assemble FAST and listen to the photographer for directions.

Prize Drawing - We will draw one log sheet out of the container to win a BRAND NEW UNACTIVATED coin for the FTF honors.

One minute warning is called "It is now 1:14!". Prep to leave, but don't "look" like you are prepping.

1:15 EXACTLY
Wait for it...then LEAVE the area without a trace (right at 1:15 in a disorderly manner/different directions). We want to disperse as quickly as we came together. The (hopefully empty) bucket of TB's will be packed up. The log sheet collection container will be packed up and sealed.

Events that happen after 1:15:01 do not count as part of THIS event.

There may be muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" That's part of the fun!

Tell your friends and help promote the event.

VOLUNTEER STAFF IS NEEDED!
Please contact us if you have a camera and would like to be the event photographer or have other suggestions for post event activities.

Suggestion: COME EARLY TO FIND PARKING. There are a few parking places nearby and parking on the street and in the local area. Please be mindful of traffic signs and don't get yourselves a ticket!

If you plan to attend please log so with the "Will Attend" option. Place this event in your WATCH LIST to receive updates. Feel free to email any suggestions; they are always welcome.

Note: The event will officially be over at 1:15, but there are several caches in the area to be had so feel free to organize a post caching party or other events.
