Geocache Description:

Its 2008, the banks are in crisis, people are moving their money out of the banks, and putting it under the mattress. To mark this we have placed this Geocoin Piggy Bank so you can hide your Geocoins without having to use a traditional geocoin bank.

This Cache is placed on a intersection of the Trans Peninne Trail and the Cusworth Cycle Trail. It will eventually be part of a series along these routes.

The Trans Peninne Trail (TPT) runs from Southport on the West Coast to Hornsea on the East Coast, taking in many towns and cities along the route. It covers some 215 miles; more information can be found at (visit link) The Cusworth Cycle Trail covers slightly less at 15miles but takes in many of the local villages and has some lovely views over the Dearne Valley.

Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case with the more urban rights of way, litter can be a problem so please practice CITO, and lets try to make a difference.

Please be considerate and only swap a Geocoin for a Geocoin, we don't want the Piggy Bank to follow any of the big banks. The container is a small round Lock and Lock box suitable for GEOCOINS ONLY NO TRAVELBUGS PLEASE. Please be careful when finding and hiding the cache, this can be a busy spot, so stealth will be important. Please ensure the cache is re-hidden well.

Use the parking Co-ords for a very quick cache and dash. For a longer walk park for GC1FQC8: Tanks a Lot, and walk along the trail to the cache.

The footpath that runs at a right angle from the TPT leads to the lovely Cusworth Hall and Country Park. It is the home of the museum of South Yorkshire Life, entry is free and is well worth a visit. You may also pick up a couple of caches on your walk there. There is a large pay and display car park at the hall if you want to park there and walk to the cache.
