Geocache Description:

This cache is an ammo box in the rocks behind some large bolders less than 100 feet from the intersection of Nisqually and Highway 18. It is within 75 feet of 5 benchmark disks (hence, the name of the cache). You can park within arm's length of the disks.

Travel Bug Hotel. This is a place that anyone can drop a Travel Bug knowing it will move soon, and that anyone can, hopefully, retrieve or discover one at any time. No Travel Bug Hotel Owner wants to see his or her cache empty of Travel Bugs, yet Travel Bugs and Geocoins WERE DESIGNED TO BE MOVED, not held because it might leave a cache empty. If you can move a bug or coin along on it's journey to complete it's goal, then please, by all means take it with you whether you trade or not. If you would like to visit other Travel Bug Hotels in the area, check out our Victor Valley Travel Bug Hotels bookmark list. Create a pocket query or download a Google Earth KLM file.

Bonus Benchmarks. After you find the cache, be sure to find the benchmarks it was named after. T5N R3 2W SECS 25 30 31 36 WC (EV1638 and EV3149) is a USGLO survey disk monumented sometime before 1946. Three disks, CORNER (EV3148), CORNER RM 1, and CORNER RM 2 make up a 1965 USC&GS triangulation station. Z 1304 (EV3533) is a 1978 NGS vertical control point. Find all 5 disks. Don’t forget to log in your separate benchmark finds at EV1638, EV3149, EV3148, and EV3533 .

Apple Valley Cache and Benchmark Series. Every cache in this series is within just a few feet of at least one historical benchmark. You can log in a find for the cache and log in a separate find for the benchmark. Be sure to find them all. Create a pocket query or download a Google Earth KLM file of this series.

Congratulations to The Dananator for a quick First to Find!!
