Geocache Description:

Welcome to Tathra Clifftop Reserve. If you enjoy a lovely view you'll no doubt like this spot.

Tathra was actually settled after it's wharf had been built. Many farmers had seen the need for a reliable local port facility from which to send their produce to Sydney. For many years, the only reliable link with the city was by steamers that carried everything from the districts including cheese, butter, pigs and passengers. On the Southern Voyage the steamers brought supplies and luxury goods which were not available locally.

Later, people started to come to Tathra as a holiday spot, but the wharf continued to berth steamers until the 1950's. The National Trust has since recognised the importance of the Tathra Wharf in the history of the south coast and also as a part of Australia's heritage. The Wharf is classified by the national trust as the only remaining restored steamer wharf on Ausralia's coastline.

Whilst the cache is indeed a nice 'drive by' to service the growing trends we highly recommend you do the two Multi's in Tathra itself, one has a great story(Gone Fish'n) and the other is just a great cache(Kianinny), you'll see why when you do them.

You're looking for a 1ltr round Sistema clone, no camo, hidden in a pretty cachey way in a spot that should not attract you any bad attention or hopefully muggles, yet is still close to the reason I'm bringing you here.

Please do your best not to be seen by muggles and hide back carefully so others may enjoy this hide.
