Tale of Three Trees Multi-Cache
4B4JESUS: Well, no changes throughout the summer. It looks like the area is off limits for good. Happy caching elsewhere. I will try to resurrect the container and it's contents elsewhere. Thanks to all who enjoyed this cache and left your logs and photos for others to enjoy.

This is a relatively easy 4-part multi-cache inspired by the children’s folktale “A Tale of Three Trees”. This is a good one to “get your feet wet” for taking on a multi- excellent for the intimidated newbie or with the kids in tow. I set this cache on foot, but it is well suited for bicycle, tube, kayak, or canoe.
The cache is suitable for all ages, but wading is required (swimming is optional, the river stays about 72º year round), and the cache journey will require about 1 mile of walking on level, wooded, winding trails, and a little light bushwhacking at the end. It should be interesting and fun. Unfortunately, this is an excellent CITO opportunity- bring a trash bag.
At each stage you will find six numbers to point you toward your next destination. The first three replace the decimal in your latitude (N-S), and the next three replace the longitude (E-W). Pretty straight forward.
DO NOT come at the initial cache location from the freeway side of the river. All the redirectors are easily visible, no wading, swimming, reaching, etc. required. You will only need to cross water AFTER the 3rd redirector (on the way to the final coordinates/container).
Thompson Mill Pond Dam – Your first stop on your journey. You can’t benefit from the Three Trees if you have not been ‘Dammed’.
V-Tree – This is possibly one of the biggest and widest spread V-trees I have ever seen.
Mammoth Tree – The most GIGANTIC-EST, most HUGE-EST, most ENORMOUS-EST cypress tree that I have EVER seen. Take a moment to marvel - this is a tree that demands honor and respect, the same as its Creator.
Island Tree – This is your final location.
The cache is a 1-quart screw-top plastic container; be sure to hide it appropriately after your find. Initial swag includes a Bill Cosby comedy tape, a Leatherman-type pocket tool, and other trinkets. The cache also includes prints of the real “Tale of Three Trees”- take a moment or take Ta copy, to read the story of the "real" Three trees.
The majority of the debris you find here is the result of flooding of the river, hence if we all take out just a little bit, we can really make a difference in this place (team dbonnell1972 takes a 5-gallon pail on the trail about once a day while walking the dog, and we almost always fill it up).
While you’re here, double up and grab “San Marcos Ghost Bridge” # GC1AHGF at N 29° 52.118 W 097° 55.763
