Located in the town of Cheshire, in the Ohio River Valley. It is located in an empty lot, near Rt. 7. It is not hard to find. Just pull in anyplace in the empty lot (there is a driveway over there), but watch for the little trees. It is on private property owned by my father and he has given me permission to place the cache upon his land.
Cheshire was once an adorable little river valley town. It was small, cozy and everyone knew everyone. Several years ago the local power plant, Gavin, owned by AEP bought up the land in Cheshire and the residence moved, most of them. Only a few houses remain and the residence are older and when they pass on the houses will be torn down.
There are a few houses (near where the cache is located) that are not in danger of being torn down as the land they still sit on is not owned by AEP.
The lot that the cache is located on was the site of a restaurant. It had many names through the years such as JoAnnes, Swishers, etc. It was a burger and fry joint with a jukebox. My grandmother once owned the restaurant there and the rumors are she lost the title in a poker game. My mother worked at the restaurant when she was a teen and that is how she met my father. It was a popular hangout for locals, power plant workers and truck drivers.
The restaurant was burnt down by a relative of one of the employees that worked at the restaurant when it was reopened in the early '90s.
My father owns the lot/property and has given me permission to put the cache upon the property. He is going to look after it for me when I am away and check on it from time to time.
It is located in a clear, 2.7 qt./2.6l, Lock & Lock container. It has written on two the sides "OFFICIAL GEOCACHE" and the other "CHESHIRE CAT CACHE"! It also has some pirate stickers on it, haha.
Please watch out when driving in the lot for the small trees or saplings that maybe planted there. :)
