Brownstone Battery is a little promoted National Trust property
near to the very popular Coleton Fishacre.
Parking is available at N50 20.920 W003 32.472. From the car
park, follow the track south, past the tower and down the hill.
Once at the Battery, an information board shows a plan of the site
and its history as a maritime defence during World War 2. Plan a
route down through the site that takes you past the many
interesting structures. Once near the bottom, the path to the cache
will become obvious. Take care, the area is steep. There is no need
to leave the paths.
As of 15/07/2010, the cache is small clear locking sandwich box
with a couple of Team Lambchop fridge magnets contained
wiithin.
For members of the National Trust, excellent 'tea and cake' is
available just up the road at Coleton Fishacre.
Thanks to the warden at Brownstone for permission to hide the
cache and to the National Trust for making such places available to
the public.
